Week 2

A pattern of language is like an abstract type of guide on how to throw out the old ways of architecture and instead look cities as just small little connections, like the room goes with the house with the neighborhood then the city. I actually believe the The City complements that with it descriptions, especially on page eight when it describes how one should actually look at a city. Something that also reflected in The Death and Life of American cities. A really good example of that is on page 384 where the author talks about the function of landmarks which in my opinion is a rather strange opinion to have about a landmark given that they are not sentient.
