MIES

I really liked reading about Mies Van Der Rohe because it was written directly from him. The story of the Bauhaus closing was funny to me since at the end, Mies and his faculty just decided to close their school after all the efforts made to stay open. It was interesting to see that some of the Nazi and Gestapo took a liking to the Bauhaus and Mies’ work. I didn’t expect Nazi to really care at all about the school until Hitler made a statement. Mies’ efforts to go to the headquarters of the Gestapo every second day for three months was very headstrong. Anyone else would not have had the will to do so. I wish he wrote more about the art he made while he was in the factory in Berlin.
